Land Speed Racer Harley Knucklehead Motorcycle

Here is a crazy mix and match Harley Land Speed Racer. Harley Knucklehead engine in a single down tube VL frame. Split Sportster gas tanks, total loss battery in the tool box.

Modern Harley Springer front end, rigid rear frame and wide car wheel. And check out that creative handlebar set up!  This bike has made a number of passes on the Maxton Mile race course.

Picking Classic Motorcycles & Antique Parts in A Basement

I was invited to check out these classic motorcycles and parts in a woman’s basement after her father passed away. She asked me to help identify the machines and parts and to give her an idea of the values.

No, I did not buy anything but I was more than a little tempted on a few of the motorcycles. Nice Harley Cafe Racer XLCR and I loved the pre-war Knucklehead and VL Harleys.

Classic 1936 Harley EL Knucklehead Ride Update – New Battery

A few months ago I made the mistake of pulling the good 6-volt battery out of my 1936 Harley Knucklehead and installing it in my 1948 Harley Panhead that had been sitting for more than a year without a battery. Yes, I got the Panhead sorted out and running strong, but at the cost of my beloved 1936 EL sitting, battery less, unused for months.

In the last few months I rode the Panhead to the Indian Larry block party in Brooklyn, NY, through New England on the American Iron Magazine Kickstart Classic and to my More on Classic 1936 Harley EL Knucklehead Ride Update – New Battery
