Barnfind & Original 1913 Indian Motorcycle

Barnfind & Original 1913 Indian Motorcycle Running

What an amazing machine. This 1913 Indian twin had been sitting in a barn for decades. We wanted it to run and get back on the road, but didn’t want to mess with the time worn condition.

After pulling it out of a barn and inspecting it, we turned the bike over to Brad Wilmarth to sort it out and get it running, but leave the cosmetic finish as found.

A year later, this is what Brad managed to do after taking it all apart and rebuilding the mechanics.

Barnfind 1913 Indian Original Paint Motorcycle

Yes, it’s like winning the lottery. I recently pulled this very original and correct 1913 Indian V-twin out of long term storage and hope to get it back on the road and running in the not too distant future.

While it appears to be very original and correct, it appears someone replaced the original Hendee carburetor with a later teens or early twenties Schebler carburetor. The old tires are dry rotted and torn, so they will need to be replaced with something more appropriate.

We plan to follow the adventure of cleaning up this antique motorcycle in the pages of American Iron Magazine, getting it running and sorted out. We will not be painting or replating anything as it is so correct now.
