My 1915 Harley Motorcycle Arrived – Classic!
After spending lots of time and money trying to sort out a mix and match 1914/1919 Harley for the Motorcycle Cannonball Run I stumbled across a real, complete, correct and running 1915 Harley that I could afford (after selling a couple of other bikes). I am so excited by this bike and it finally arrived today in the rain and sleet.

I had only seen some fuzzy photos of the bike, but some friends had seen it in person so I was comfortable buying it. I knew the front forks were damaged and had been repaired a long time ago, and I knew the saddle was wrong. I also knew the handlebars were damaged.

Original Paint 1915 Harley Gas Tanks & Top End
I believe all the tin is original paint, which is pretty cool. I am not planning on running these gas tanks across the US for fear they might split of leak. I have a beautiful set of reproduction tanks being made. which we will paint to look right. I’ll keep the original ones on a shelf – safe and sound.

The Left Side of My Original Paint 1915 Harley
This is the oldest motorcycle I have ever owned and the only one I can recall with bicycle-style pedals to start up!

More details and photos of this classic Harley when I get the time. Meanwhile I can’t wait to spend more time studying this bike and learning all I can about it.

Awesome Buzz, That is so Cool! After the CannonBall it would be perfect for the Pewter Run!
IF it (and I) survive the Motorcycle Cannonball it would be a great Pewter Run, but that might seem tame after a 3,500+ mile ride across country.
excellent. congrats.
Wow ! The bike looks great ! Hopefully I’ll get a chance to see it up close and in person! I’m looking forward to your blog on prepping the bike for the Cannonball. This is a better start than looking for all the pieces from now till race day!
