Greg Field's Harley-Davidson Panheads is a bit closer to the mark. Not perfect, particularly the photos, but at least Mr. Field did more research and his writing more accurate than most of the other books discussed.

Apparently Rick Schunk is coming out with a knucklehead book soon. Time will tell on how good that one is going to be.

I grabbed every book I could get my hands on and have gotten a little tip here and there from all of them. What I couldn't find in one I usually picked up in another. I wouldn't want to take on the task of writing a book and pleasing everyone.

But once its in writing its got to be true, so I could use a bible like that! I need more garbage to spout at the donut shop about bikes like my "original" 1969 fx (Its already true, I have a title, so its in writing!) and the Shovelheads from the years that Chrysler owned Harley...(a donut shop conversation that snapped my head around, based on some guy that mixed up AMC and AMF and then the fact that Chrysler bought the Jeep name from AMC or something...got stupidly twisted, I did not even try...)

Please put those facts in, since now you can confirm them here on the net.
