    removing neck stem from rear springer fork

    Can anyone tell me the best way to remove a neck stem from a stock offset springer.Thanks Tom

    Number !:
    There is no "Good" way and the most common outcome is a ruined rear leg!
    Number 2:
    Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it.

    It definitely begs the question WHY??

    I personally would not even go there!

    Some had modfied neck stem to run timken bearings.They removed the lower raise section of stem that holds original springer inner lower race in place.Tom

    Fabricate a sleeve and press it on the stem to create the raised section, very easy to do, then press on the lower centering collar and you are good to go. It has been done many times. No stem work needs to be done. The stem is not just pressed into those forks and do not come out happily or painlessly!
