    Re: Y.O.M. plates

That's the same place that did a "replica" of my original WA 1952 m/c plate about 4 or 5 years ago.
At the time, they told me they could not 'create' something from nothing, I had to have an existing plate for them to duplicate. And they had only one size. Luckily the size was the same, but the color green was way off the original, so I had to have the new duplicate repainted by a plate restoration guy (cost $15).
The whole reason I decided to have a replica made was because the YOM plate I found (from a plate collector) had never been issued, never had a bolt through it. It's just too perfect (and expensive) to mess it up by actually using it...!
That was my thinking at the time, anyway.....

Y'all are lucky to have regular size plates. I had to find originals as I could not find anyone to make a repop.

NM will not accept a replica. The original plate must be inspected and if condition is not good enough is rejected. A replica is actually a criminal offense just like a modified VIN.

Ohio told me they will register a replica military registration plate as long as the number is not currently registered.

Missed that one Sarge, thanks for pointing it out. Try to find a 39 tag from Hawaii for an MC...like finding the lotto ticket ball #s!

My Son has one on his '48 Buick, I've had two before the "Scout" plate....Who's is to dispute them? They are 100% like originals, but new, and you can choose the digits....how cool is that?
