    Pewter Classic Motorcycle Run

Anyone know anything about an event called the "Pewter Run" or something like that held in New England for early classic motorcycles?

I am hearing bits and pieces about this event and it sounds like fun.

Here is some info I lifted from the event web site:

The United States Classic Racing Association is the oldest vintage road racing organization in the United States. Though primarily based in the Northeast, it has members around the globe that participate in its unique events from actual street race exhibitions to all out FIM / NAMU internationally sanctioned Road Racing and Observed Trials.
In recent years the USCRA has broadened it’s offerings to include Vintage Observed Trials and the first ever MOTOGIRO USA. The USCRA is very responsive to its membership interests.
From that membership interest the PEWTER RUN was born and is being developed to address the very early years of motorcycling in America. It is anticipated that there will be a significant gathering of very early motorcycles from the twenties and earlier for this first of its kind in the United States reliability run.
Europe has been doing this type of event for years but until now, there has been no opportunity for this type of event here in the United States.
Placing the Pewter Run on the Labor Day weekend gives the enthusiasts three important benefits…extra travel time, a vintage motorcycle ride through some of the most picturesque country side of historic New England, and the opportunity to visit the USCRA Granite State Vintage Road Racing Championships a few miles up the road at New Hampshire International Speedway on Labor Day Monday.

More details on our magazine web site here.

I am planning on trying it this year - perhaps on my 1924 Harley. If not the JD, then a modern bike like my Indian 101 Scout.

Anyone else up for this? Old motorcycles can be up into the 1950s.

    Man Buzz,

you guys in the NE have the cool events! Wish I was far enough along with the J racer to enter, but it just hit my garage last Saturday. I've got an uncle up there, and will definately shoot for next year. Take lots of pictures!
