    66 Cases

    hey folks
a mate has a set of 66FLH cases with matching belly Nos and good eng numbers, has what looks like a 65 timing side case, I say this because the rocker box oil feed is from the outside centre of the case like my 65. Every other 66 case i've looked at has the feed coming from case near the base of the rear cylinder. anyone shed any light on this?

    cheers and beers
    Laurie

Is there a hole in the case where the '66 oil usually comes from?

What are the date codes and casting numbers on them? How high is the VIN? Pictures? Not nearly enough information to make any guesses.

Factory photo of the '66 Prototype show the oil line in the '66, not '65 position.

    Re: 66 Cases

Factory '66 cases cannot start with a 5 as the serial sequence 1st digit. Those cases are faked.

    Re: 66 Cases

Laurie, even before the photos were posted I suspected this would not turn out well, partly because of what happened with some (all?) very late 65 Pan R-H cases and I can come back to that in another post if need be. For now though, please look closely at what is alleged to be the second 6 in the BN. Was it originally 5?

Can you post a clearer picture please.

What does the other BN look like? Photo?

Are Hs stamped on top of the cases near the rear engine mounting bolts? Photos?

As Robbie indicated, the SN contradicts the even-odd code and is therefore fake. Notice the top of the alleged 66 is very close to the edge of the number boss. Iíve seen that sort of thing many times but was the second 6 originally 5? Can you post a close-up of the entire SN. Thanks.

Looking more closely at the BN looks like your right does look like a 6 over a 5. So what happened with the late 65 cases?
