Don't want to add to the panic, but that 1 Trillion $$$ is money we don't have. So, who do you think they will give that bill to? Yeah, admit it, you know who gets that!! Will be nice to get that $1,000/$2,500 check, but it's just like paying your mortgage with the Visa card.

Anybody catch what Mark Cuban had to say if they bailout big business again?? I only caught part of it. But sounded pretty good conditions from what little I heard.

On August 3, 1914 sir Edward Grey said The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time
The 6th day of the war.
The first world war started on July 28, 1914 when Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia setting of a chain of events.
The war ended on November 11, 1918 and the lights came back on.
5414 days later Edward Grey died (September 7, 1933)
Sir Edward was wrong by a mile, more then a mile really as there are 5280 feet in a mile.
You can ponder why I posted this and how it relates to the current situation.

I don't think our government should use tax payer money to bail out any business that makes millions of $$$$$ every year. I was pissed off when they bailed out the banks all because they gave money to people that couldn't afford to pay it back. Did any of those banks call anybody here and say, Nice job paying your mortgage on time for the last 20 years we're going to lower your interest rate for being a responsible person? HELL NO. They should have left them go belly up.The strong banks would have taken them over. Will all the CEOs forfeit there pay to give to there employees? Yea right. When we have a bad year we have to get by the best way we can. Give money to unemployment to be given to those who paid in.

Boeing Co.’s CEO received $23.4 million last year

GM CEO Barra's pay dipped slightly to just under $22 million in 2018

Ford CEO Jim Hackett received total compensation of $17.8 million in 2018, up from $16.7 million in 2017

Fiat Chrysler CEO Mike Manley received $12.5 million in compensation in 2019

Apple CEO Tim Cook Earned Over $11 Million in 2019

    Mark Cuban said -
Companies that receive federal assistance in response to the coronavirus should be prevented from buying back stock ever again.
“Not now. Not a year from now. Not 20 years from now. Not ever,” Cuban said.
He also said, “Whatever we do in a bailout, make sure that every worker is compensated and treated equally.”

As a friend of mine used to say, "It's easy to bitch, and complain. . . . And fun too!"

W/r/t "Sir Edward was wrong by a mile":
Grey was not referring to perpetual war, but to the anticipated extinction of the existing social order. The Hapsburg (Austria-Hungary), Romanov (Russia), Hohenzollern (Germany) and a few more ancient dynasties overthrown, Poland created again after 150 years of domination, the level of violence in conflict (60,000 dead in one day), the effect of multi-national war on "individual" states, not seen since 1648.

The trillion dollars will exist as a transfer between the Federal Reserve Bank and the Treasury, exactly the same as 2008: they print it.
But... doesn't that debase the value of every dollar in the world? Yes, it does, which is why counterfeiting ("making against") is punished so severely. Only the government can ruin its own currency.

Panic is not wrong. If the Fed can print a trillion why not another trillion? Not too long ago you couldn't swing a cat in Congress without hitting someone agonizing about the debt and deficit which are running 20 trillion and one trillion respectively. Now you only hear a few economists sounding the alarm and in Congress it's crickets. If it was a huge problem before why is it not now?

Not to long ago people were shouting we don't want a socialist. Now they want big hand outs. It's a disaster for me. I had half o dozen dealers cancel trade shows or trade shows canceled out right. Wife drives a school bus. These kids around here wont be back this year. Only good thing is i have zero debt.
