    Yep, a good bike ruined by crap/fake photography. The speedo looks like his kid coloured it with a Dayglo marker pen.

    Sidenote: I bought my EL through a Mecums auction. There was a world of difference between the studio presentation on their website and the bike that stood in front of me at the auction.....Beware

    That is a period accessory replacement speedo face and not an issue. They came in lots of colors.

    In December 2019 a restored 48EL was listed at $32k with no takers.
    The red-blue 48FL is at $44k today, reserve not met.
    Pretty strange I tell ya.
    People can do as they please (I am a bit suspicious).

    I agree with you 1950panhead. That silver '48 is a beautiful, and well done motorcycle. By far the better '48 in my opinion.

    Nobody was paying attention in December. Christmas is right around the corner. I will not sale from Thanksgiving till mid Jan. I do agree that the red bike is to high. But what do i know?

    Old paint,not just OP is preferred by many today VS total restored
    Shiney is not for everyone
