    1944 Knucklehead #s

Is it possible for a 1944 Knucklehead engine to have 1945 belly numbers?
    Thanks in advance

    Sure. But it's not legit.

If it had '43s I'd say yes on a low numbered engine. '45s is time travel...

I posted this in 2012, search vin 38 UH 2859

Yes, itís possible. I gave this example on here years ago with pics.
Factory Letterhead Dated Aug 5, 1947

Harley Dealer Harry Molenaar asked the Factory to check sales records.

Reply crankcase no. 39-3144 was originally assembled with motor 38 UH 2859.
This motorcycle was shipped to our Dealer Paul Morgan, 906 West Main street, Princeton, Kentucky, under date of Feb 28, 1939, and registered on March 6, 1939 under the name of Bob Hester, Eddyville, Kentucky.
This is the last record of sale that we have on this machine and it is not listed here as missing.

    Service Dept,
    Signed H.R. Pohlman

So Iíd say anything is possible.
