Makes it easier for people to see what you're talking about if you include a link:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/1937-Harley...Fc2JxK&vxp=mtr

Tons of wrong year parts and even most of those are repop. Still, it might be a great bike for someone at the right price. Not for me though. Bad numbers=no deal.

Belly numbers match but one is different font from the other.... and never seen one with an A suffix.

it's in Norway, so shipping to the us would cost $$$$.
virtually zero 37 parts on it.
cases are 38 & possibly bogus belly numbers.
vin number is obviously fake & the pad has been milled down.
could be a nice rider bike, but i wouldn't go anywhere near it.

    Iíve seen the letter A at the end of a Harley BN for 1928, 31, 34, 37, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 53, 54, 57, 61 and 62.

The "A" suffix appears to have been added to a BN when it accidentally was repeated, so the second set of cases numbered 1234 became 1234A to differentiate it. Since it wasn't the VIN number it was fine for their needs. Very uncommon relative to the numbers produced.

That possibility has been suggested before but Iíve never seen evidence to support it. And Iíve mentioned in other threads that an offending BN character could easily be corrected by overstamping and therefore no letter would be required. I have several examples of this.

I also have examples of a BN error corrected by overstamping yet an A is present. On those occasions adding the letter to indicate a mistake doesnít make sense because the error was addressed by overstamping.
