    fork tins adjustable triple trees

evening folks, building a daily rider, 48 U in a shovel swing arm frame with a 46 side car. did some part searching without much luck per the fork tins, are the hydra glide tins used on the adjustable side car forks different than the solo set up?

Only the top piece. Adjustable forks have different top attachment so the top tin does not have holes for top nuts. All the others are the same.

Make sure you have the correct head cups and bearings for using tins. '60 up bearings and cups have a taller stacked height and the tins will be off on overall height, too short.

well i gave up on the tins, at work we have a large pile of stainless steel round stock, boss said take what you need, so i picked out some 2 1/2" diameter and plan on doing a vard style tapered fork covers, but just going below bottom tree an inch or so and using gaiters down to the sliders. tube pivoting hardware will be concealed in cover and topped off with the stainless steel top cover, the beauty of working for a steam railroad is that all the items i make at work are like tinker toy size compared to the parts fabbed up or repaired in our backshop.
