    Horn Cover Screw Part Number

    Anyone know the part number for the carriage bolt style horn cover screws on the 4801-42 or 4801-42AM horns ? Cover uses three of them. Thanks, Paps

    According to Chuck's catalog(Kick Start) The # is 2672. $3.00 apiece.His cat # 3634.

    Those are slotted round head screws but thanks for trying.

    Is that a 10-24 thread, on a carriage bolt? If so, McMaster Carr sells them for a little over $4 per 100. If you go to the link I posted, Mc C provides a CADD drawing, and full specs. If the head is too big, you can turn it down on a lathe, or get creative

    The 1945 parts manual shows cover retained by 039 10-32 1" fillister screws.

    035 (1190 late part number) 10-32 x 3/8" carriage screw.

    Manual is wrong.
    Looking at my pile of horns I agree manual is wrong.

    035 (1190 late part number) 10-32 x 3/8" carriage screw.
    Luland sells the 035 screw Harley Davidson 035, 1190, 10-32 x 3/8 Stainless Fillister Screw same as listed in 1945 parts manual.

    I just checked my genuine, original H-D Delco horn, and the carriage bolts are 10-24, but the head diameter is .375". Personally, I would use a 10-32 carriage bolt, a lock washer, and Locktite because a horn is nothing but vibration.
