Thread: Early 45 WL Wheel for Trade - 16" for 18"

  1. Early 45 WL 16" Wheel for Trade for later 18"

    Good morning Gents,

I have (per Palmer) a pre-1942 16" wheel for a 45" WL. I had it mounted on my 1946 WL. Hub was serviced, wheel relaced with stainless spokes (from 45 Restoration). Both rim and hub may be original black paint. I bought the wheel off the Bay about 4 years ago, it was very crusty and dusty with lots of broken spokes. I wiped it down, new spokes, rebuilt hub and then put about 2000 miles on it. Firestone replica tire from Coker installed. I am looking to trade YOU for a post-1942 18" wheel, black. No chrome please. Original paint or looking original is desired, in usable condition. I would prefer to not have to relace the wheel, but what do you have? Ok to need a hub rebuild. Do not need a tire, Firestone ANS waiting to be mounted.

I can send better pictures if interested, these are all resized to fit on the forum.

I recently picked up an 18. It is complete but the bead surface of the rim has typical rust pitting. Most likely old WLA wheel. I think is still has OD under the black. Haven't looked at it too closely.

Robbie, if you believe it to be usable and are willing to part with it, PM or email me and we can work something out. Trade or purchase, up to you. They all seem to have the OD under whatever color they are currently.
