    Early Panhead intake nipples

Any recommendations on a good source for a set of plumber intake nipples and rivets?

    Anyone used these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Linkert-...0f76%7Ciid%3A1

Should the nipples be parkerized or raw?

The critical thing about Panhead intake nipples, is to make sure the sealing surface is absolutely flush to the head when it is screwed in. The threads are not intended, or able to prevent air leaks. Also, I have heard many people complain that the O-ring bunches up, or just breaks when the nipple is screwed in. Harley-Davidson did not use an O-ring on plumber manifolds. I do use a PTF thread sealant when I put nipples into Panhead intake ports to lubricate, and perhaps help seal the threads. It can't hurt.

Thanks for the reply Eric. I really didn't want to try and cut and collapse the old nipples but after reading the troubles t-bone had trying to seal the nipples on his 50' i think it's prob the only way to do this properly. I guess the heads will need to come off!

Have you collapsed the nipples in the past? Did you just use a hacksaw blade to cut almost through then crush them?

In regards to getting some replacement nipples, the current Colony ones seem to be parkerized which is why i asked.

Piece of cake. Threads in the head are in great shape, just need to clean them up.
