    Re: Shovelhead manifold seal question

I've always used electrical tape on leaking O-ring manifolds. But I always make sure the carb/air cleaner has good support brackets to prevent them from moving around when the tape gets "gummy". No fun when the carb falls off! Doc

I was told about the tape trick back in the 70s by an older dealership wrench. Have used it on and off since then...

I was told many years ago to use wide Teflon tape, I have done it myself for years, turns clear after time but seems to work well for me.
