    Drive sprocket size question, 37ULH

I have a 37ULH sidecar rig with a 20 tooth drive sprocket. First gear is like a granny gear, gets it moving but not so much. I can start off in 2nd gear fairly easy. I am thinking of going to a 22 tooth sprocket and wonder how much change this will make. Anybody know? The transmission is a 3 speed with reverse.

I can't speak for a BT, but on my WL the change from 30T to 31T was definitely noticeable. I would think a 2T change will make a difference, whether it is enough for your application I do not know. Good luck.

Thanks Duffy. Now I'm being told that the taper on all re-pop sprockets is bad and I really need to find an OEM. I'm not finding one. Any thought on who to buy from? Experience with V-twin sprockets?

Sorry for previous question, taper is only on engine sprocket and I'm changing transmission sprocket.
    Thanks

Standard transmission sprockets are 22 tooth no matter what is on the engine or if it is solo or a sidecar bike. Not sure where you got a 20 for the trans. My '44 UL has a 22 engine and 22 trans and a 3&R gearbox. Pulls the passes here OK, but mostly a second gear grind when crossing 10,000+ feet.

Re: Drive sprocket size question, 37ULH

Thanks guys. I have 22 tooth on the motor sprocket and am now changing the countershaft sprocket on the transmission from 20 tooth to 22 tooth. Glad to hear that what I wanted to do is the right thing. Thanks.
