    Indian purists look away now.

I know you guys don't think much of Mecums Auctions but they have this up for auction in Las Vagas next month. Cool aye. Their photos are somehow protected so I cut this one from the Inter-wet. Mecums have some great photos so have a look if you're keen.

    Howdy Murray,

This is one of two machines constructed by long time AMCA members that carry more than enough historical weight that fellow Four owners regard them as an integral part of this marque's story.

I always wanted this bike when I first looked at it in "The Golden Age of Fours" There was a section in the back that showed how Mr. Ottoway shaved down a chunk of steel to the crankshaft, used a Desoto camshaft to run the 6 cylinders & welded up 2-1940 crankcases to make it a Super Six! Now that it's for sale, I can't afford it. Hope it goes to a rider.

Herb used to bring that machine to the AMCA Road runs and various family members would ride it. I believe Bud Cox had the other one. Both from Kansas...

I know Bud asked Herb Ottaway for permission to build his own SIX; and then Bud joked that he spent the rest of his life apologizing for it Different time, but I still think it was not a good thing to do because 4 cylinder bikes have always been scarce.

Amazing bikes, amazing talent all those builders. I have only managed to make a few shiny doodads for my soft tail outa aluminium on my lathe so maybe there is hope yet.

There is a guy here in New Zealand that has made a V8 Indian. I have seen it a few times at classic bike shows. I would post a pic but I'm done with photo bucket BS.

Links to the NZ bike are easy to find if you are interested.
