    Am I right assuming that bidder 202 raised his own bid from 16 to $20,000?

    He was trying to surpass another bidder who had a high limit (looks like 24K) so every increment he tried just kept going until he quit. He wasn't bidding against himself, just a hidden maximum from another bidder.

    Not a bad looking sickle. I thought it would have done a little better than the final sold price.

    I thought the "E" version went out in 1938 or so. I thought in 1942 if you bought a 61 cubic inch knuckle, it would be "EL" or "ES" vin number.

    The "S" in an ES was never stamped (other than a few early '36 models) so all ES models or FS models appear as just E or F....
