Chris, how good is your Japanese! I'll post a close up. It's all hieroglyphics to me. The only thing that questions me running it is the copper band on the slip ring is all the way around. I'll try it though.

Well Mitsubishi is implied by that darn logo. I suppose along the lines of application may have been the better question. Wonder if Bosch licensed the design in the late 20's. I've never owned any prewar Japanese stuff. It's gonna look nice on the J

Damn rice burner! It could have been on a twin cylinder generator or tractor. They probably worked alongside each other at some point(Bosch and Mitsubishi)

The anchor stamp is interesting and points in a certain direction. Any idea on the firing timing? V, horizontal, etc??

Rubone, I was wondering about the anchor.... Marine application? The slip ring has a full ring of copper and it was set up as a single mag. The cam was one large lobe that covered probably 180 degrees, I don't have it in front of me so I'll post a picture of the original parts. It had an extra plate bolted to the front of the brass grounding plate. There are more Japanese characters stamped around the whole assembly, probably just quality checks...

I now have it set up for a V engine with the current interrupter housing. Does anybody in the US have the capability to test the firing angle on these? Marks? If so I have two that need to be measured. The man I pulled these from has a mag tester so I'll see if its a LH rotation or RH rotation. To swap them you just turn the magneto around right?

I have to make the .275" riser like the Robert Bosch has to get it to line up like a ZEV. Then I need to figure out if it'll run as a wasted spark mag due to the slip ring, and maybe that will give me half the spark for each plug compared to a sectioned slip ring... Therefore making it all not worth it... Hmm. Gonna have to just build it and test.
