Eric, or anyone, what is the midco you made reference to?
Actually, the Midco (for Excelsior), and the Remy unit (for early J Harleys) was only a generator. It was part of a battery ignition system. The Midco unit was a generatror, with coils, condenser, distributor, and power distribution panel for all the electrical components. Even though they were beautifully built, it was 10 pounds of sh!t in a 5 pound bag. If anything went wrong, it was a difficult problem to remedy, because you had to strip the gear cover to get the Midco off. I've had both a Midco, and the Remy unit and I believe they were both made by Remy. I think the Midco, (also sold as a Teagle unit) were companies that modified the Remy for different applications.
