    Re: Buco saddlebag plates

So, no luck on the search for the correct saddlebag plates, does anyone know of an aftermarket source for the plates?

Does anyone have the fasteners that hold the bag to this type of plate ? or a picture of one.

    Howdy sir,

Google Dzus fastener, spring compression with two ears that fit in those impressions in that plate, commonly used as on, for example, BMW Enduro bags. Think I’d be more inclined to mimick the standard stud arrangement, with fender washers to disperse the load, used to retain HD bag plates to the rear fender for your very valuable Bucos.

On stock factory bags the mounting hardware was an integral part of the bags, not loose fasteners.

I thought so but wasn't sure, the question was about a friends saddlebags, he said he lost the fasteners ?
    Thanks

Here are some photos of the internal bag plates that use the twist-lock attachment. I personally don't have any spares. As Rubone mentions, the internal plates are attached to the bag with rivets before the outer top cover is attached; also with rivets. If the twist-lock pin falls off, the screwdriver-slot 'Buco' fastener along with its spring will also fall off. Ratty old Buco bags show up on eBay fairly often, and that might be the best source for tracking down Buco saddlebag attaching parts.

Buco saddlebag locks also show up on eBay now and then. Nice ones can be quite expensive.
