Late model Springer HD forks that took a big hit. They are currently just lawn art with no plans to do anything with them.

Thanks paps. Looks like 38Knuckle put up a photo. Now I know what to look for. The bracket that this tool box is mounted to looks nothing like the photo. I'll fill in the holes with metal.

I would leave the holes, they're part of the history of the bike.
    Are they hurting anything?
Is the bike a points restoration?
If there is a Big Twin mount strap bolted to it, is it even the one that came off the 45?
Why would you burn off the paint by welding on it?

Well Tom you bring up some good points. I have no plans to attempt a restoration so the odd paint job should stay as it is. There is no reason to cover the holes just for the sake of covering the holes. But the back of the tool box is cracked and that should be addressed lest it progresses. Look at the left bolt.

The mounting bracket is functional but wrong.

I'll keep an eye out for the real bracket or find one on the Feabay. I'm going to get this bike up and running this Fall. I still havn't been able to talk Roger out of the WLC seat he has on his rat bike. He told me he bought the seat in Canada hence the WLC.

    I see the crack.
A good Tig guy could weld it up and probably knows of a way to minimize damage to the paint from the heat.
    That bracket is surely homemade....

How ratty is the wiring on that thing ?

I don't know. I haven't touched this bike at all other than move it from time to time. I'm told it ran three to four years ago and that is all I know for now. I don't know if any of the lights work.

    Fabe,
With the correct mounting bracket the too box is about 6 inches further forward than you show it in the first pic. Basically directly over the transmission. There is a tab on the upper frame rail to the rear of the ground tab that the mount attaches to, is it there?
In that same picture there is a stud in a hole below the seat post casting. It doesn't belong there, the holes are for the frame wiring terminals. Was anything attached to that stud?
