Thread: Wall St vs Classic Motorcycles

  1. Wall St vs Classic Motorcycles

I read somewhere that Jay Leno said he invests his money in classic cars and bikes rather than in Wall Street.

He said something like he understands and has fun with the bikes and cars but doesn't understand the stock market.

He must be one happy guy these days.

Our bikes value didn't drop like GM, Ford and Chrysler stok did last week, it was trading for $2.00 a share, I got out of the market in 1998.

Stocks may have fallen folks but in 1957, a chevy Belair sold new, for around 1200. Buy a Cobalt today. Paps

With what few stocks I do own, I have lost my butt this year. On the other hand if I made as much money as Jay Leno does, I really would not care----M

Jay puts all his Tonite show money in the bank. He lives on and buys his toys with money from his Vegas, Atlantic City, ETC. shows.
A few years ago I got a phone call from The Imperial Palace Casino in Vegas. They have a nice car museum there. They were looking for a Brough. I asked when they added motorcycles to their museum. They said they hadn't but Jay Leno was appearing there and as part of his contract they had to buy him a Brough. Nice work if you can get it.

Leno's the only celebrity I can think of I'd like to actually meet. I've heard he's a phony, I've heard he'll ride his butt off, all sorts of stuff. People can say anything, and believe what they like. But I'd never think I'd know until I met the man.

Jay is the real deal. You will find him at local LA car and bike meets. He often brings some exotic vehicle into cruise friday nite at Bob's Big Boy in Toluca lake, CA. he rides his bikes and drives his cars everywhere. He shows up at The Rock Store, a motorcycle hangout in Cornell, CA in the Mailbu Mountains. he is a regular guy and will talk to anyone.
Here is a photo of me back in the 80's at The Rock Store. Notice the goofy looking guy standin' behind me.

    I respect your opinion.

Probably never happen, but I still want to meet him, especially after Chris's statement.

Came to Bob's Big Boy on Friday nite and the odds of meeting Jay are good.
