I had my 1926 JD set up with a front brake and I hand the lever on the right side. It was not hard to operate at all. I converted my 1995 Heritage Softail to foot clutch hand shift and kept the brake on the right. This one is not as easy to operate because the lever is further away from the grip and feathering both the throttle and the brake at the same time, while rocking the clutch forward can be interesting, especially on hills. I am now looking for a brake lever that has a reduced reach.
