While I didn't quite soil myself, I did feel lightheaded and almost went into shock when I saw the final price. I had been away from a computer for a couple days over the weekend visiting family.... Not going to tear my basement or garage apart to find more stuff to sell, but I was able to buy this nice little Sport Scout and ALMOST completely pay for it with the tanks sale....... and I agree, it's actually very unsettling to see that kind of price...
when it's all done could you tell us how long paypal makes you wait to withdraw all the funds. i had a sale way above my norm they would not let me take out the funds for 6 weeks.

I would sell my mint extra tanks in primer with all oem nickeled petcocks, fresh chrome shifter gate and shift lever in a heart beat for that.
Hell, I would even throw in some repop early gas caps.
But I did see just one side go off on ebay the other day for 3800.00. Can't remember if it was the LH or RH.

I sold a real nice late '36 to 39 left tank with cap and petcock but no shift gate or lever a couple years ago for over $1800.00. I thought that was shocking. I agree that there may be a surge of early tanks for sale now, which could create a glut, leading to prices dropping since there might be several examples competing for buyers. Supply and demand.

Man I have got to get rid of my Eaton Tall Caps. They would go perfectly with all of those tanks!

I got my 36-39 RH tank this spring for $900. I thought was a fair price. My buddy got his RH tank for his 39 at an AMCA meet last year for $200. The deals are out there. You just need to keep your eyes open.

The really deep pocket people are scoring what they need. They are willing to beat out other really deep pocket people to get theirs. Money means nothing to really deep pockets. Once they all have what they needed, the price will plummet quickly.
