Thread: Would like to suggest new section "dollars and nonsense"

  1. Would like to suggest new section "dollars and nonsense"

I usually don't comment auctions but have seen some pretty scary prices on some parts lately, like this one

    No fun...

I got the tanks for my 37 ULH in about the same shape about a year and a half ago for $700.00. That is just plain stupidity. For the guy that has everything and doesn't feel like moving away from his key board. The seller is probably ripping his cellar apart right now looking for the next thing to sell while still pissing his pants with joy. Bob L

he winner of this auction has almost 150,000 ebay feedbacks. Wonder what that is all about?

Look again at the second high bidder. Same name (or symbol) with less than 1000 feedbacks. Weird!!??

Usually with high feedback is an auction house for overseas bidding.

While I didn't quite soil myself, I did feel lightheaded and almost went into shock when I saw the final price. I had been away from a computer for a couple days over the weekend visiting family.... Not going to tear my basement or garage apart to find more stuff to sell, but I was able to buy this nice little Sport Scout and ALMOST completely pay for it with the tanks sale....... and I agree, it's actually very unsettling to see that kind of price...

I like the idea of a forum to vent all the frustrations of "too much money, too few brains."
But let me suggest a slight change to the title, Buzz: Instead of "Dollars and Nonsense,"
just drop the second N, and leave the space in its place...

Whats also crazy is that there were a least 10 people bidding that were willing to pay way more then I would be willing to pay. Its not just the winning guy that bid high. Maybe I'm just too cheap. Anyway, Congrats to the seller.
