    The dragstrip picture looks like Bowling Green Kentucky Beech Bend Park. They had a big motorcycle drags event there in 1978 called the Big Boogie.
    They estimated around 50,000 people came there and camped in the park. The only security was the ones that the park hired. They were completely overwhelmed so the whole thing was out of control. No traffic control and a number of accidents some fatal. Total chaos, people shooting guns in the air, random drag racing in the camping area and just about anything that you can imagine.

    I was there in '78 and it was certainly wild. We were "treated" to an X rated display on the track during a rain delay. I stopped on the side of the road on the way home and a rough looking guy pulled up and I got the feeling he was thinking about taking my '54 FL. He pulled away to my relief.
