2nd picture down of 8451....This is the Winnipeg Roughriders Motorcycle Club formed in the 1930's till the 1950's..... as a break away club from the Manitoba Motorcycle Club (1911) MMC still going today. The roughriders were a hard riding motorcycle group who were top notch racers to boot. Most of their membership were in the airforce in WW2 and they lost a lot of their members. I have the colors of one of those Bomber pilots shot down and killed in 1942..Judging by a few of the people in the photo...circa 1946...

I believe that is a speaker and receiver only, and the masts are antennae. The book "Harley-Davidson Police Motorcycle" by Robert, and Robin Genat states they were first offered by H-D in 1931.

Yes, in March 1931 radios were first tested by the Milwaukee PD motorcycle unit. Adolph Waech an ex-motorcycle dealer in Milwaukee developed the radio unit and he acknowledged dealer Bill Knuth with partial credit for the idea. Knuth's shop handled the radio installations. Waech had previously owned Badger State Motorcycle Company which is where Bill Knuth got his start in the industry as a salesman.
