Well Dave, it wasn't for lack of tryin'. Listed 3 times on FleaBay and never got over 300 until they finally sold. Listed on here for over a year without a sniff. So if you think people are throwin' money at used 45 cases I beg to differ.......

I just committed to purchasing a 49 WL motor last night. It's a couple hundred miles from home so I haven't seen it yet. Complete less carb, no broken fins, sounds like a nice motor that has been sitting for 30 plus years. I don't need it but it's hard to pass up the chance to buy anything out of the barn anymore, so I'll have to go get it. alanc48, If you are interested, send me a PM, I would be able to sell it for around 1,500.00.

I just think it’s a shame that good numbered cases only brought 325.

Alan, t-bone here on the forum has a 46WL motor with title and a tranny case with all the guts. Would be a much better deal than tryin' to build something from parts. His number is above on the Bone-A-Fide ad if you're interested.

Hey Alan, did you introduce yourself yet in the "New member intro" section?

    Hi!
I wouldn't be suprised if someone finds fresh WLA engine from Russia. US send about 35 000 motorcycles to Soviet Union during the WWII. And almost 20 000 replacement engines so there must a stash some where :-)

I have seen some weird numbering including cyrillic characters in cases that are bought from Russia.

Its true! I have heard but never seen that a warehouse was found in Russia with bikes still in crates with spare engines
