    I had the same problem on my 51, I had to use some spacers. I never did find out why...Mike

    I would just run a thread cutter on them and make them have less shoulder.

    That is the generic Colony 9707-18 mounting kit. You should buy the correct Colony 2493-6 kit which is correct for 1947-1957.

    Thanks Chris. The 2493-6 appears to have the same shouldered bolts.
