Quite a story these guys tell on this CL listing.
WTH are Bonnieville cases ? Anybody got a picture ? I assume aftermarket cases but have been wrong so many times in the past that I sometimes hesitate to even post.
H meant "hopped up" i never knew thats what the H in FLH meant.
The sellers are guaranteed to have brown eyes, cuz the sh!t rises higher than their eyebrows inside their skulls. "Bonneville" was an Indian hop-up term, for starters. For shore, Harley didn't use it. And "H" was whatever you anted it to mean, as Harley never, to my knowledge, ever attributed any words to define it. Might be a deal, tho. But you have to hack your way through the offal to figure out what it really is.
Bonneville cases were a '70s aftermarket replacement case NEVER associated with H-D in any fashion. In fact their big market was in trying to legitimize stolen engines. Use everything except the left case and apply for a home built title, Bingo, fodder for eBay 40 years later. . .
And they may actually believe everything they are stating.... stupidity knows no bounds!
Thanks Robbie. I appreciate the info !
... interesting that Eric's pictures show a raised number boss on the left side case whereas Robbie's picture does not. Thanks for the pix Eric !
