The later "Super T10" was a lot better, but still not particularly (maybe should say comparatively) strong, but it's so easy to swap it, as they make Chebbie scattershields with the Ford trans pattern and you just use a Ford-spline disc, unless it's gonna be a putter, yeah, you might want to check on it- considering the few GM trannies that are still "available", the numbers-correct crowd have run the prices up so far, it's probably even cheaper to just go with the good cast-iron Toploader box. Yeah, Munchies are just a nice aluminum box to keep broken parts in LOL The Jerico trannies that have been in pretty much every NASCAR Cup car for many years are basically beefed race Toploaders

Looks like a great project. Personally, I like the idea of the mods in order to "muscle" it & make it stop. Your doing the right thing not making permanent mods & keeping all the original parts with it. But, wouldn't it be cool to keep the "ratty" look?
Have fun with your crisis.
Im sure it will be in the "Rat" stage for about two years, as i am keeping it as a running restoration. I'll be building the Big block in the shop, as its coming along. Once i do the frame off, all hells gonna break lose!!!
Twenty years ago I had no problem takin' a nice 67 Camaro and goin' nuts on it. 540 BBC, turbo 400 w/transbrake, 9 in' Ford, big ass tires, full cage and made over 700HP on pump gas. Just took it to the track for fun but it was built for the street.
