V-VL Manual that Harley Never Published

I just finished scanning about 130 pages of the J.B. Nicholson book, Modern Motorcycle Mechanics, 2nd Edition (1945). It covers JD, VL, 45 & EL/UL Harleys and Chief & Scout Indians, and I made a CD.

It's an "extract" only, of all his "American Motorcycles" (Harley & Indian) data and processes from the book that also covers a wide range of Brit bikes (about 130 pages of 560 total ppg). Costs me about $2 to mail, U.S.

Good going Sarge. That should help a few folks. I like those books. I have three different editions and use them on a regular basis. Greg Williams from BC did a reprint of the 7th and last edition as well as writing a great book about Bernie Nicholson, "Prairie Dust, Motorcycles, and a Typewriter". A fine read. Nicholson was one of the best technical writers of his time and those books outshine most factory manuals.

It's neither here nor there Robbie but Greg resides one province to the east in Alberta. His book on Bernie Nicholson was for sure a good read. Mr. Nicholson accomplished a lot in his time on earth and left behind knowledge that a regular backyard guy can comprehend and put to use. I have a copy of the 4th edition that I refer to often.

I knew that as I have sent him some early pre-unit Triumph stuff for one of his projects. It jumped right outof my mind! He is a good guy and hope he writes some more!
