All the Harley's are just copys of the 1915 Harley in diffrent form. The 1915 Twin with 3 speed is the father of all Harleys.

The term "modern" has been redefined several times throughout motorcycle history. To me, the bikes that played a part in redefining the term are some of the most significant. 1909 Twin, 1915 3spd, 36 Knuck, 49 Pan, 57 sporty, 58 duo, 65 electra, 1st Evo. Then theres the HD 45, which is of course one of the most significant models, given its years of service in both business and racing.
These are some of my most significant "models".
It would also be interesting to try to determine the 12 most significant Individual Harleys, as opposed to models. Petrali's streamliner would pop up, right? Pete Hills Knuckle? The LSR Roeder Sprint?

1909...First Twin...OK it didn't work very well so let's say 1911?

1935 VLD....one of the funnest bikes to ride!
1947 Indian Chief...OK not technically a Harley, but don't you want one?
1947 Knucklehead....Needs an Indian chassis to be perfect.
1965 Panhead...You know why.
1979 FXS Lowrider.......got to have one Troublehead...I mean Shovelhead
1990 Evo....best Harley motor built!
2003 FLHTC...100 year ann.....OK really 99th year but who's counting?
