It's the same oil pump as used on singles of the same period. The threaded lug on the back is longer to project thru the thicker aluminum case cover. It also has a two hole bracket mount on top for a control wire bracket. Fred Lange in CA makes a special nut that allows the use of a standard oil pump on the two cam cover.

I have also seen and have a pic posted somewhere on here of a throttle controlled pump with a sight glass on a JDH
regards Phil
eric here is how you can make your 2nd oil line
you can drill and tap the jd and jdh oil pump body for more lines
Anyone have a single oil pump for sale? got the special nut for the pump with the motor from Fred Lange, he didn't say I would need a single type pump!

With that special nut, you can just use a standard 1928-29 JD oil pump. If you have the single oil pump ( the same as the JDH oil pump), you don't need the special nut.
Ok Mark
just checked the nut supplied, looks just like the original but with a shoulder, tried my pump but when I line it up with the 2 holes in the cover the pump is off centre. maybe its not the special nut?
maybe i'm doing it wrong? I have to rotate the pump to align the brass feed? and fixing screw hole then it clears the dome in the cover but, puts the threaded section that goes over the drive, off centre to the hole in the cover?
Still waiting to hear back from Fred!
