    1944 and 1945 paint colors

    Hi Guys,

Having located a set of tanks and pulling all the bits and pieces together Iím now starting to think about paint for the WL.

The choices for 1944 are Grey or Silver and Iíve decided to go down the silver path. I emailed John Pierce who very promptly returned my email saying that heís unable to ship his paint overseas but he could send me a small spray of the color for $40.

I was wondering if anyone else has any other options before I spend the $40.

On another note, it says grey was the only colour available in 1945 but I was wondering if Police Departments could order other colours?

    Thanks
    Dave

Black was available to the police in 1945.

What does this tell you? There is no published mention of Black being available for police. But in '45 the war in Europe was scaling back and optional colors were returning. 1946 listed Gray, Skyway Blue, Flight Red, or Ploice Silver. Surely these colors may have been available in late 1945.

Here is a 1945 Police model in what looks like Gray. Notice that in 1945 the dash is body color. 1944 dashes were black.
