Thread: Left hand Police sidecars.

    Left hand Police sidecars.

    Anybody have knowledge of Indian Police bikes with Left hand sidecars? Or Harleys? Thanks.

    There were lots of them. Just sold to other countries. Nearly 3,000 of the WWII U sidecar rigs for North Africa were all lefties.

    Yes, my buddy saw one in Germany. But he is particularly interested in the useage of them here. He has talked to poeple who have told him they were used in some cities, maybe for writing parking tickets? He is particularly looking for the mounting brackets, since the sidecars were the same.

    The sidecar body is the same. But the frame is totally different. You can't bolt a right side side car on to the left side simply by changing the mounts. By the way, the mounts are the same. Just bolted on the oppisite side. brake linkage is totally different.

    Yes, he already has B. Miller doing the switch. He has had trouble finding the mounts, though to go on his 4.
