These are two correct 1915 Harley twin front chain guards. They are cut out on the bottom and the paint is correct as it is a copy of the one in the Harley display![]()

Are those repros? If so, very nice!
Those are repros that I have worked on to make in to 1915 HD ones.
Rear chaingaurd 1915[IMG][/IMG]

Nice rear chain guard. I think it's # 3817-24 , 1924 only.
It has a bolt hole by the front, they didn't have that on the 15's. That did have it on the 1924 HD's. The 15 guard had two small bolts to hold it to the front chain guard. They stopped using the bolts in 1923.
It also has the later rear chain guard brace. #3826-15. The 15's were straight with no bends. Look at the pictures of that original 1915 at Oley.
The cut out part that is 3" by 1/4" I have never seen that on 1915 rear chain guards. I have seen it on the 24's. It was put there to stop the tire from rubbing.
Thanx Terry I had no clue on the chaingaurd, came with basket case
Did you ever notice the front chaingaurd in the 1915 catalog doesn't have the same shape as production?[IMG][/IMG]
These are not pictures they are drawing and they have many things that are not the same as production models. See how the paint is not the same as the production models. See how the foot clutch has a hand lever on it? Never seen a production model with this on it. The first hand clutch lever's were longer. They changed the length sometime in 1915 to the shorter one so that it would not hit your leg or rub the gas tank. If you look hard at some of the early's 15 you will see where the lever was hitting the gas tank. I have owned one of the longer levers.
