Belly Number Suffix

Has anyone ever seen a belly number with a letter suffix? I have a '46 61" right case with 46-3003A stamped with the "A" stamped a little heavier than the other numbers. WTF does it represent?[/IMG]

I just spoke with Bruce Palmer III about this issue. His answer makes complete sense. At times the employee stamping line bore numbers would error and put the same number on two sets of cases. When this was discovered the "A" was added to differentiate the two sets.
