New phot of me racing my 1915 Harley against a pair of 1915 Indian motorcycles

Just got this photo from Morgantown WV's Mountainfest at the Vintage Grand Prix. I was leading the first heat on my 1915 Harley Selma, ahead of a couple of 1915 Indian riders at turn one of the first lap.

I was leading the first lap when the bike suffered from vapor lock and stopped the gas from flowing to the carburetor. I fixed the vents and later won the main event.

To me, this is the essence of motorcycling: racing...............

Hey, better to drop a knee than a valve :-)

Actually we were scrubbing off speed for the 90 degree turn. I guess we dropped from about 45 mph (not much distance to build speed on the first lap) to about 25 - 30 mph through turn one.

Did you guys notice my Harley still had the lights, mirrors and saddlebags in place. Even had all my tools, oil and spares in the saddlebags. The Indians were stripped down for racing.
