1932 was the 1ST year for leather bound enthusiast. At least that’s what I had. The 1932 to 36 all had the same gray, gator looking cover, only the years were different. If the Dealers sent their enthusiast back the Factory would have them bound for a fee. By ‘35 and ‘36 Dealer leather bound parts and accy. books could be ordered embossed with the Dealers name for a small fee.
Leather bound Enthusiast’s in the $150 range is great, they sold at one time in the $700 range, but the average was around $400.

This ad appeared in the June 1937 Enthusiast. It is the first mention of hardbound Enthusiast magazines being available to the public. I see I was wrong when I said only 200 were made. It was actually 150.
