OK, I am going to the one by Cleveland on the 25th. I will check it out. That one that Pace Tools sells looks interesting, too. Thanks for all the feedback on this. I know it isn't the right forum for it, but the road just took us there. Kinda like ridin, for me. I am a no destination rider most of the time. Like Seger, coulda gone east, coulda gone west......... Ride free, and keep the rubber side down!

Chris, are you happy with the economy model? Is it sturdy, and no flex? How about rocking? Did you pay extra for a tire vice?

Mike | I am very happy with it. It is basicly the same lift without some of the dress up finishing touches. It came with the tire vise. I bought the Western sissor jack on eBay for 75 bucks. I have never seen a lift that didn't have some wiggle to it. Mine is no different.

I have seen other lifts fail and collapse , well... ok pictures of the aftermath befire the bike and lift were uprighted.
I have personally heard the crash and watched the dust settle after a "top of the line" , ( I believe it was a K&L lift? ) toppled to it's left with a 98 RoadKing properly strapped to it.
In 15 years I have never heard or seen of any trouble with a HandyLift lift.
Yes they are expensive but you really get what you pay for, and they last forever. I used one that was 18 years old, it worked like it was new.

I bought a Handy because I knew I'd use it a lot, and I wouldn't ever have to replace it. They also have a rebuild kit for the cylinder, and it doesn't need to be rebuilt for a long time. My buddy with a dealership has 5 Handy's, most have been around a long time, bought a rebuild kit 5 years ago, and still hasn't had to rebuild one. I used it the other day to pull a car transmission, put it under the car lift with my tranny jack on top of the Handy, ran it up, brought the car lift down a bit, and voila!

Please do not take offence to this grunt, but that is the style of lift that I have seen most often fail! The red diagonal bars flex a bit under weight, fatigue over a short time and eventually fold and the whole thing collapses!
