Re: Removing Powdercoating

Permatex gasket remover takes it off as well. A friend, however, recently recommended removing it with a butane torch and wire brush.

Re: Removing Powdercoating

I've had pretty good luck with jasco paint stripper from lowes(or home depot) Runs about $7 a spray can. Usually takes a couple tryes but it's cheap enough Bob

Re: Removing Powdercoating

I went to Home Depot, got a gallon can of stripper for about $15.00. Took the powdercoating right off my frame. It makes a mess, but it worked for me.

Re: Removing Powdercoating

I had to strip my 46 frame so I took it to the local coating shop. They said if you burn it with a torch it makes the Powder coating brittle and it will come right off like old paint. I ran the gas torch over the whole frame and it worked great, just don't linger in one area to long.
