Re: Heilman??

Lots of great 'foreign' people on this list right here. Keep in mind that to them, we Yankee types are foreign. Most important: we are all enthusiasts for vintage bikes, and that unites us in shared lunacy.

Re: Heilman??

Rob, You are right, I have a trouple in my ears, dont´hear well and that makes "foreign" languages difficult to me to understand, specially on the phone. Reading is ok, listening is terrible because it so easy to misunderstand.

Walt, I´m sorry if didnt wrote clear, I´ve lot of friends around the World and different cultures are beautiful rischness, I think.

Talbot, thaks, we have tried that adress couple of time with different pc:s, didnt work here, wonder why because it did last autum. I´ll call...

Re: Heilman??

I don't know why anybody would want to do business with Heilman. There are enough stories on this site and the clubs site to make me stay far far away from them. www.worshamcastle.com is the king of the mountain for seat quality, correctness, and service. Besides that he is a nice guy too.
Here is a link to a thread showing a sample of Heilman's latest work.

Re: Heilman??

The ol' man, Howard Heilman, did great work. I had more than one seat he did for me, and they were beautiful. And Howard was always put customer satisfaction foremost.
Unfortunately, his son, Larry, is apparently not up to the job. Not cut from the same skin, you might say, and has been known to express his disappointment in the reviews he gets by taking it out on his customers. It's all his customers' fault. Of course. Like Chris says, the laundry's all been aired over on the AMCA forum. Several different incidents were reported, and discussed exhaustively.
There are several others who do excellent seat work and stand behind it. Michael, "Worsham Castle" is one. I also had great work done by Heather's Leathers, a good ol' boy, also from the Carolinas, who follows the National Meet circuit.
