Dimension Needed -- 1952 frame

The horn mounting blocks on my '52 frame had been welded on incorrectly, being too far apart for the horn (Yes, correct for 1952!) to be installed. Since they were wrong, there was no way of knowing if they were at the proper height, either. So I carefully cut the welds and removed them. I bought a set of the correct replacement blocks from Competetion Distributing, now I need a little help locating them vertically in the depressed area of the frame where they go. I built a jig to hold them at the correct distance apart and parallel to each other, but I need to know a dimension for locating the height. Interestingly, the blueprint omits the horn blocks entirely.
Since I am also replacing the lower front gas tank mounts, a measurement from there wont really work. Well, I suppose it will, because I will be certain to locate it correctly, using the frame blueprint, and also by mocking up an original set of tanks. Perhaps from the bottom of the intermediate frame backbone to the centerline of the holes? Does anyone have an unmolested early 50's wishbone frame that they are able to take this measurment from? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Dimension Needed -- 1952 frame

I think if the tanks are off, the measurement could be taken. I'll be patient, someone will help. Perhaps a measurement taken from the bottom up, maybe put a rod through the sidehack loops and measure up??

Re: Dimension Needed -- 1952 frame

Ok, Right side from the joint where the tube meets the neck to the inside corner of the mount is 6 1/2". Left side is 6 5/8". Go figure.
These precision measurements made with a Stanley 50' steel tape.

Re: Dimension Needed -- 1952 frame

Thank-you Sir.

Anyone else? I wouldn't mind getting dimensions from more than one frame.

Measured per Mr. Haynes and got 6 5/8 both sides. Note: Precision measurements taken with a Lufkin 25' steel tape.
