Replica Knuckleheads

Hi Gang,

While browsing various sites and forums, I've been reading as much as I can about new replica knucklehead motors.

I'm wondering if anyone has any real EXPERIENCE with either the V-Twin or S&S/Flathead Power motors. I read constantly people saying they've "heard" this motor or that was "crap" or "excellent". But few actually seem to know first-hand- i.e. own and ride or have actually worked on 'em- either of 'em.

Its hard to weed out the second-hand rumors from the real facts about these motors.

As I said earlier, my dream bike is a knucklehead and new is the way I want to got but can't find concrete info.

Any insight is appreciated!

Clint

Re: Replica Knuckleheads

I have not heard or ridden one, but have found in the past just about everything I have used from S&S is pretty top notch. I have seen their replica Harley knucklehead bike but not yet ridden one.

Re: Replica Knuckleheads

I own one of the earlier Knucklehead Power bikes (2000), it's in the shop now, being completely rebuilt, I wish I'd just bought an original, which I have done now, instead. I hope that S&S does a better job on them, but they have not really stepped up to the plate to help me out with the one I have.....

When S&S purchased FHP, they did not buy into FHP's previous warranties. Those warranties are the responsibility of the previous owners. Paps

Re: Replica Knuckleheads

Let's hope that the people who bought, Saturn, and Hummer and the other labels stand behind their products better.

Re: Replica Knuckleheads

S&S did not by the company, Flathead Power. They only bought their assets. That is not the same thing as China buying the Hummer line.Kinda like ole Tedd at V-Twin buying names like Sifton, Gary Bang, and The Motor Shop. All he got was the name. Too bad he didn't buy the quality.
