Alloy rims became available starting in 1960. The new thing in '64 was the full width hub up front so a new rim with a different spoke pattern came with it. And most XLCHs early on had steel rims with the alloys on XLHs. The steel wheels were considered stronger for the greater abuse CH models took.

I got one of those tanks for 10 bucks off ebay. I had been contacting all tank sellers on ebay looking for one with the second bung. Took some time to find it, but it was in suprisngly good shape.

Now about that rear fender I got for the same price....it's sad.
