Storyteller?

I'm trying to get a buddy to spend some time here, the ultimate been-there done-that guy- it was a ball walking around with him at Dixon, ("Don't pay that much for that, I can make you one") Just got off the phone with him and put the bug in his ear, he's got the site open right now. Some of you older guys may have heard of him- Alan Sputhe. He and Gary Davis have a great toy they play with, a '37 Scout vintage road-racer- it's won every race it's been in, and pretty much every piece is re-engineered and smoked over- a two-wheeled jewel. You'd never believe the kind of exotic one-off and prototype stuff sitting around in his shop. Whaddaya think, wanna hear some stories from the master tinkerer himself?

Sputhe Engineering jumped to mind..... seems like that's a name echoing in the back of my mind from the old chopper days.
Missed hooking up with you at Dixon. Met up with Uncle Pshyco, he was on the phone trying to reach you, we was gonna find you, and then..... well, you know how it goes.......... Maybe next time.

Yep, Unc caught up with us while we were looking at the survivor bikes. Every time we got near a Chubblehead, he started twitchin' and droolin'
Did you see the two Norton dirtbikes? The P11 with the huge front knobby and the Commando with a 21" front? Saweeet

I did. There was an amazing assortment of vintage motorcycles there, of all persuasions! It was certainly worth the trip for me!

Re: Storyteller?

Wow, it would be great to have someone with his experience posting here.

I'd love to see some photos of his Indian roadracer. I hit Jon Shultz's pit each year during the Barber Vintage Festival to talk to Jon and Al Knapp and check out their handshift roadracers.

Maybe he don't like you
Seriously, whaddaya need, Chris, I'll ask him, and introduce you- if we could have found you on Saturday, I'd have introduced you then- Unc wanted to meet you too- were you hiding inside in the AC??? We walked around the swap meet for a few hours
I called him last night as I saw an ad for an XR750 with some of his old dual-carb Sporty heads on it, the ad poster called me today and told me he bought the heads from Alan 25 hears ago
